Lessons From a Shepherd PT 5

Psalms 23 ESV

1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.

3 He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Exodus 15 ESV

11 Who is like you, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders?

Psalms 113 KJV

5 Who is like unto the Lord our God, who dwelleth on high,

Shepherds Are Responsible For Defending The Sheep

Hedge

Job 1 ESV

10 Have you not put a hedge around him and his house and all that he has, on every side?

John 10 ESV

10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. 13 He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me,

Harpazo

Snatches, catches, or claims for oneself.

Shorpizo

Scatters, those who are terror-stricken.

The Good Shepherd says

“I lay down my life for the sheep.”

Who is The LORD?

Colossians 1 ESV

13 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. 19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell,

Ephesians 1 ESV

20 he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. 22 And he put all things under his feet

Even though” I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.

2 Corinthians 4 ESV

8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

I still believe that His promises out rank my current reality.

Even though I walk through.

2 Corinthians 5:7 ESV

We walk by faith, not by sight.

2 Timothy 1 KJV

12 For I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

I walk by faith in His promises

and not by my feelings.

I walk by faith in Who He is

Not by what I see.

Even though i walk through the valley of the shadow of death

Even though i walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear NO EVIL

I will fear No evil For YOU are with ME.

The fights not fair!

The fight isn’t fair, it’s fixed!

Psalm 27 ESV

1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
